They installed a paved walkway with steps, installed a cobblestone walk next to my driveway, and extended my rock wall to tie into my new steps.

Where Stratham Projects Start

Most of Them Start at the Front Door

Plenty of Stratham projects start with a front entry that needs a proper walk. Sometimes the brick is cracked and settled, sometimes the steps are the wrong height, and sometimes there was never a real walk to begin with.

Stratham sits right beside Exeter, in the middle of the ground our crew covers week to week, so a site visit is easy to set up and we are nearby long after the last paver is down.

We walk the property with you, look at how you actually come and go from the house, and lay the walk out around that.

It Is the Thaw Cycles, Not the Deep Freeze

One long hard freeze is not what ruins a walkway in New Hampshire. The real wear comes from repetition. The stretch from late winter into spring is the hard part, when wet ground softens by afternoon and locks up again overnight. Every one of those swings nudges the soil under your walk.

A walk sitting on a shallow base moves with it. That is what turns into a high edge at the door, a paver that rocks underfoot, and a step that no longer sits level.

The Part Nobody Shows You

Ask What Goes In Underneath

Two quotes for the same Stratham walk can be thousands apart. The cheaper one has usually saved that money underneath, where nobody can see it.

Our walkways and granite steps page lays out what we put under a walk and why. It is the part that decides whether it still sits flat in five years.

What We Build

Walks and Steps for Stratham Properties

Paver walks, bluestone and natural stone paths, granite entry steps and landings, and old brick taken out and rebuilt. Front entries, garden paths, and the run from the driveway to the door.

All of them, with photos and the build steps, are on our walkways and granite steps page.

Common Questions

Walkways in Stratham, Answered

What makes a walkway last through a Stratham winter?

Depth and drainage, not the paver you pick. The damage comes from thaw and refreeze cycles moving wet ground, so the walk needs proper depth excavation, gravel compacted in lifts, pitch that carries water away, and edge restraints to hold the surface tight.

Our brick walk is cracked and settling. Rebuild or repair?

Usually rebuild, and usually in the same footprint. We have taken out cracked, settled brick walkways and rebuilt them as granite edged paver walkways on a proper base, with new granite steps in place of the worn brick.

Do you build the steps as well as the walk?

Yes, and on most entries they are the same job. Steps get set level on a compacted base with a consistent rise and run. We use granite for a home you plan to stay in, because concrete is porous and freeze and thaw wears it down over a few winters.
